The first time in my life I hated my natural black haircolour! June 28, 2009

I’ve been wanting to dye my hair blue for a long time. Today, I finally got Manic Panic Shocking Blue semi-permanent haircolour and 30 vol hydrogen peroxide. First off, the hydrogren peroxide did not lighten my black + dyed brown hair at all! I tried it twice within 4 hrs… And then I tried the Manic Panic Shocking Blue on my dyed brown hair and it also didn’t work as I intended to–my hair turned black instead of blue. Now I’m waiting for the stores to open so that I can buy a bucket of bleach powder (wow, this is dramatic hair dying process) or if I can’t find that I’ll probably buy a bleach kit. I can’t believe my hair is so stubborn.

Lately I’ve been listening to quite a lot of vampire, paranormal themed audiobooks and here’s my verdict:
The Excellent:
The Undead Series by MaryJanice Davidson

Undead and Unwed First Betsy Taylor loses her job, then she’s killed in a car accident. But what really bites is that she can’t seem to stay dead… |
![]() |
Undead and Unemployed Being royally undead isn’t all it’s cracked up to be–there are still bills to be paid. Luckily, new Queen of the Vampires Betsy Taylor lands her dream job selling designer shoes at Macy’s… |

Undead and Unappreciated Reluctant vampire queen Betsy Taylor may rule the topsy-turvy world of the undead, but now Betsy’s discovered that she has a long-lost half-sister who’s the devil’s daughter… |

Undead and Unreturnable Though she’s the vampire queen, Betsy Taylor is much more like a princess. In MaryJanice Davidson’s novels, this high-maintenance monarch is finally coming to terms with her new status… |
![]() |
Undead and Unpopular With her birthday coming up, Betsy isn’t in the best frame of mind to face the powerful European vampires who have finally come to pay their respects… |

Undead and Uneasy Weddings are never easy. But when you’re Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor, they can become downright deadly… |

Undead and Unworthy Betsy’s husband, Sinclair, has been perusing The Book of the Dead, Betsy’s being hounded by a ghost who’s even more insufferable in death than in life… |
The Good:
The Bad:
I am so pissed–Archie is proposing to Veronica…urgh they will make such an annoying comic book couple! June 22, 2009

I sort of knew why Archie will propose to Veronica instead of Betty because he’s got the hots for the glamorous looks, money, and sweet life of Veronica, but not Betty. But honestly, that’s not true love at all. The news is everywhere…people are shocked! Betty is so much better than Veronica and I still in disbelief that in September the author will release the fist part of the 6 comic sega. I hope this is not some marketing gimmick and I really wish they in the end, he will either die or choose Betty!

Restaurant Empire II – PC Simulation Game for Food Lovers, Stategists and Planners June 17, 2009
Posted by xyue in PC, random.2 comments
Just yesterday, I started playing this incredibly simple yet tedious but addicting PC game called Restaurant Empire II (Rated E), a sequel if not almost identical to the first installment, Restaurant Empire with the exception of better graphics, animation quality and an addition Desserts Mission where you can start a Coffee Shop from scratch (well, they gave you the kitchen at first but everything else is up to you to build). I have played both games for at least 5 hours each…and to be honest, Restaurant Empire II has too much elements that is almost identical to the new one. The intro, dialogue and conversation and especially the narrated tutorial were too similar. The guy narrator’s voice was almost was too familiar in both of the games and it probably the same person…so you could technically skip the tutorial if you have played the first game.
There was, however, a problem that I’ve encountered which wasted hours of my freetime trying to fix a black screen when I start the game. The menu is gone…I see the hand cursor that came with the game, but not the graphics. But I just found out the solution to stop the black screen. All you have to do is go to your “Documents” folder, then “My Games” and then click the “Restaurant Empire II” folder, and then delete the two files but not the folder which contains your saved gameplay. I haven not yet confirmed if this works 100%. Will be back to confirm.
Edit: it works great now…Except my laptop crashes before I can save the game process…but that’s probably just me. X/
My lifetime goals that I want to achieve June 5, 2009

There’s actually a lot of things I want to do before I die; to be blunt about it. But there’ still a lot of things I can’t wait when I get the opportunity:
- learning how to use specialized computer programs
- learn how to start my own e-business
- be a pro-photographer
- advanced illustrator
- learn how to design & make clothing
- better public speaking abilities
- read more books–hopefully excel at writing
- grow a garden filled with roses
- become a healthier by exercising more frequently and change eating habits
